Our Story
Active Design was previously family owned and founded in 1991.
In it’s original form, the company pioneered CAPS II, Fusion and Foam Carve special seating together with many accessories, such as harnesses, footplates, cushions and headrests.
Known for quality and robust products, Active Design was acquired by AJM in April 2022.
Southwest Seating (SWS), was also previously family owned and founded in 1993.
In the early days, the company pioneered Matrix backrest systems and sourced the versatile and robust Neo wheelbase system from China, in an exclusive arrangement which continues today, ensuring that the company resides among the leading wheelbase providers both in the UK and abroad.
SWS was also acquired by AJM in April 2022, and today forms part of the merged company – Active Design based in Birmingham.
The new and exciting merge of both companies means an extended and agile range of products and services for its clients together with purchasing synergies with its suppliers.
